Introducing Mr. Paul Barrette

JCS Families, 
It is with great excitement that I announce Mr. Paul Barrette as the next Principal of the J. C. Solmonese Elementary School! 

Mr. Barrette comes to us with a strong background as an elementary educator. Currently, he is the Principal of the Old County Road Elementary School in Smithfield, RI where he has led Kindergarten - Grade 5 for the last 6 years. Mr. Barrette also has a background as a music teacher at the elementary level as well as in technology at the district level. The feedback we received from the JCS staff and families was very positive that Mr. Barrette would be a great fit for the JCS community and we are excited to have him join us beginning on July 1st. 

I want to thank the JCS staff, parents, and school community members that served on the interview committee led by Dr. Ackerman. This is an intensive role that requires a lot of care and thought through the resume review, multiple interviews and selection of finalists. This committee had the best interest of our JCS students and staff in mind during this process and selected three qualified applicants to be finalists. Thank you also to Dr. Marcus for being a wonderful host to our candidates during their school visits. We are sad to see him go and wish him the best as he embarks on his new adventure!
